From the sketch
We immediately worked on aesthetics and dimensions that were not in line with the rest of the segment, maintaining the compact body typical of the Multistrada family, with respect for lines, harmony and large surfaces. Italian style, not fragmented and harmonious.
To visually enhance the overall feeling of solidity, we worked on the compactness of the proportions, keeping the masses within the wheelbase.

This engine comes from an intense teamwork on delivery smoothness.
Lightness and compactness, fluidity and regularity, durability and comfort. These are the pillars that define the innovative strength of the new V4 Granturismo.

A V4 engine which is 1.2 Kg lighter and more compact compared to the previous V2 Multistrada generation engine. An achievement that guarantees effective and reliable performance.

New double-sided swing arm
The Multistrada V4 is equipped with a uniquely designed double-sided swing arm inspired by the principles of additive technology.
Improved rear sub frame solidity
A new two elements rear trellis frame improves robustness and makes room for under seat storage and the adjustable saddle.
Ultra-light Monocoque frame
The MotoGP-derived monocoque frame allows for a significant weight reduction and adds high rigidity and stability at high speeds.
19 inches front wheel
The 19" front wheel ensures a rounded and intuitive ride in sport and touring use, as well as greater control on unpaved roads.
Adaptive soul
Compared to the previous generation, the compactness of the V4 Granturismo engine and the reduced wheelbase make the bike shorter, more agile and with a center of gravity perfectly positioned in the vehicle.
This structure generates an ease of riding that instils safety in every rider, in any riding situation: from long-distance comfort to the pleasure of off-road performance, also enhancing the Ducati sporting DNA.
Just the pleasure of riding
The new Multistrada V4 has been engineered for maximum riding comfort. Aerodynamics, engine delivery and optimization of the characteristics of the frame combine to achieve excellent values in the field of NVH (Noise and Vibration Harshness).
Ergonomics have also been improved, to ensure a more comfortable seat position for both touring and off-road standing riding.
Vibration reduction
All chassis balances and engine gears are optimized to reduce vibrations and offer the best possible comfort to the rider and passenger.
Getting on the Multistrada V4 means letting yourself be enveloped by a "bubble of silence", inside which you can comfortably ride with the helmet open even at high speed. Minimal vibrations maximize comfort, especially over long distances, as does engine noise which is kept to a minimum thanks to reduced gearbox allowances.
Aerodynamics
Lowest frontal air exposure for comfort and stability
Ducati Corse's innovative aerodynamics research has been harnessed to allow for the most comfortable travel experience.
The aerodynamic control allows to minimize the exposure to the front air and to divert hot flows away from the rider, ensuring the most complete protection and comfort.
Adjustable multi-element Windscreen
So simple, yet so advanced. The windscreen is equipped with side deflectors for maximum protection. An ergonomic system adjustable in height simply with a finger (patent pending).
Aerodynamic bypasses
The internal aerodynamic bypass (02B) helps to create a jet of fresh air capable of diverting the flow of hot air exiting the radiators around the rider to improve thermal comfort. The external one (02A) draws air from the front of the vehicle to cool the rider's seat area.
Side radiator vents
The position of the front radiators has been designed to allow for optimal vehicle weight distribution: the fins on the side of the radiator cooling ducts allows for maximum aerodynamic efficiency.
Turning vanes
The pair of turning vanes under the fairings allows to increase the flow of fresh air to the rider, maximizing thermal comfort and generating vertical load which is essential for vehicle stability.
Slice through the wind
Aerodynamic research has studied every aspect of the internal and external surface of the bike to maximize the protection of the rider and passenger.
The beak (with the front wing – 05), the fairing, the "shoulders" of the tank and the exit of the bypass ducts of the radiators were analyzed to reduce the air pressure on the pilot and the related vibrations.
An aerodynamic configuration that maximizes rider and passenger coverage and reduces uncomfortable and noisy turbulence.
Thermic comfort
Aerodynamic research also plays a crucial role in maintaining perfect thermal comfort. The deflectors and the design of the bypasses keep the hot air flow of the radiators away from the pilot, channelling the fresh air and ensuring the perfect temperature.
Thermal comfort is also supported by the idling of the cylinders in the rear engine bank.
This specific function, taken from the Desmosedici Stradale model, is activated when the engine is at idle, turning off the rear bank, the one closest to the saddle, reducing heat emission and therefore improving the comfort of both rider and passenger as well as optimizing the consumption.
